Football Cake
This football cake was commissioned by one of my lovely neighbours for his 50th birthday party. Being a man who is all about family, football and his roots we came up with an Arsenal cake design and on each of the black panels we put names of people who mean a lot to him – his wife Taiye, his children Ayomide and Koya, his team Arsenal and his Nigerian name Wole. We also incorporated the Nigerian flag!
In addition to the cake was a tower of 50 cupcakes,
keeping the red Arsenal theme going half the cupcakes had red butter cream with ’50′ on top and the other half were topped with an edible football.
What I love about this cake is the personalisation and therefore meaning this cake has to the recipient. It’s just fine to have a cake you have chosen and designed, I suppose the extra mile is adding important details about you such as your children’s names, your loving wife’s name and the flag of your country where your roots are. Lovely : )
